  • For you @barbarasegall - a rare glimpse of me in ‘action’. Just to say, I’m really not a hat person but it turned out to be a necessity given the breeze to avoid me having a mouthful of hair every time I answered a question. The dog in the background was very restrained & kept a respectful distance (even if she was salivating). As you can imagine there was a lot of interest in the picnic from the neighbourhood dogs!   • Mightily impressed with @missfoodwise adaptation of Frederick Vine’s Derby Picnic Pie (1900). It certainly is a hearty dish. We’re still ploughing through it several days after the shoot I did on Friday.
