I am thrilled to announce that Comfortably Hungry has been shortlisted in the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards.
In Episode 6 I chatted with Dr Peggy Brunache, Lecturer in Public History and Archaeology as well as the founding Director of the Beniba Centre for Slavery Studies at the University of Glasgow, about how the culinary creativity of the enslaved people served as a form of resistance. Peggy was a fabulous and fascinating guest (and clearly the judges thought so too!).

It is a huge honour to be shortlisted for this award as I know from the years I spent as one of the Guild of Food Writers awards how tough the competition can be.
The success of the podcast is largely down to the input from my amazing guests, such as Peggy, but also Thom Ntinas of The Delicious Legacy podcast who mixes the audio and ensures we all sound great!
Wish me luck for 1 May!
